About Mama Jojo
I'm Jojo, I live in Ware, Hertfordshire with my partner and two children. I first became a Mama in 2016 and then again in 2018. My younger years were spent studying and travelling the world, before settling back in the UK and carving a career managing cafes and restaurants.
After the birth of my children I was driven, by my own experiences, to pursue a new career as a Breastfeeding Counsellor. I returned to university in September 2018 to study a Birth and Beyond foundation degree with NCT. Through my formal training I discovered my passion for all aspects of postnatal support and the need to change the narrative in the UK on how this period is valued. As such, I trained to become a Postnatal Doula.
I am an active member of the antenatal and postnatal community locally as a member of the West Essex Maternity Voices Partnership, where I share mothers' experiences of maternity services, participate in discussions on topics of maternity care, and review policies. I also run a weekly Bumps & Babies coffee morning in Ware, giving mothers somewhere to go, chat, get support and meet other local parents.
